“You’re just you,” Donghyun cut in, voice clear and firm, “mudang or not, scared of ghosts or not— you’re just you. Myung Jaehyun.” He smiled, and then relocated his eyes back to the puzzle.
For a few moments, Jaehyun simply sat there looking at Donghyun, and repeated those words in his head.
‘Shaman or not, scared of ghosts or not— you’re just you.’
A wave of relief washed over him, similar to the one he’d felt years back when his mother had assured him that he didn’t have to follow in her footsteps. He felt the hot sting of tears and quickly wiped his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt. On his side, Donghyun pushed the box of tissues towards him, and Jaehyun couldn’t help how his lips curled up, as if on instinct.
