Summary
Acting on a hunch, Gale reached into the folds of his bunched-up robe, searching blindly until he found the object he was looking for: an amulet. A magical one, at that.
He brought the amulet up between them, into Astarion's line of sight, and the vampire quirked an eyebrow at the non-sequitur. "I know you're curious," Gale said in lieu of an actual explanation.
"Of course I am," Astarion replied shamelessly. He shrugged. "It's not everyday you meet someone who eats magic. But what are you insinuating, exactly?"
"Feed it to me."

Summary
"What?" he asks. His tone is innocent, though the way he's grinning at you is anything but. "It's perfectly natural, my love, you needn't be embarrassed. I can tell you're trying to hide it, but it's uncomfortable, is it not? I'd be ever so glad if you'd allow me to help... ease your pain, as it were."
You... consider it. Gods help you, but you honestly consider it.

Summary
Astarion wanted to hiss and spit and scoff at the straightforward advice, the bluntness of Halsin's speech still so unfamiliar to him. He was used to unnecessarily complicated social dances, embellished half-truths and flowery conversations with hidden rules and unspoken agreements lurking behind them, the slightest misstep enough to damn one forevermore.
There was nothing hiding behind Halsin's words. There was no silent threat, no secret meaning, no ulterior intent. He meant exactly what he said, and somehow, that was an absolutely terrifying realization to come to when Astarion was already feeling so very vulnerable.
