Summary
The force of the knife sends Kris skidding onto their knees.
They’ve been hit before. Hell, they’ve been downed before, countless times within Dark Worlds, but they’ve never felt a pain as strange as the kind the Roaring Knight inflicts. Like a wound forming inside-out.
Wordlessly, Ralsei and Susie each take one of their hands and pull them to their feet. It’s the small, but instinctual gesture of care from the both of them that makes something warm and saccharine swell in Kris’ chest. The three of them look out for one another without even having to think about it first.
Or, in pursuit of the Roaring Knight, Kris considers the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known.

Summary
basically a short little story twisting the ending of chapter 2 in which the lightner gang has a sleepover at Kris’ house, and some very spoOoOoOky things happen in the middle of the night. what spooky things? that’s for you to find out!!!
btw this story was written in preparation for a much longer story that i plan on writing. so uhhh yeah stay tuned if you want to see that :)
