Его смущенная улыбка ничуть не успокаивает - напротив. Он целый день провел на ногах. Как давно ему больно? У Томаса даже зубы начинают ныть от неловкой непрошенной эмпатии.

Summary
Hanguang-Jun the Chief Cultivator as an Emperor in Hero/Ying xiong (2002). For aestetic purposes only: the throne room (IMDB link below)! The guarding candles! The unreachability! The potential to descend from up there and hug one insecure Wei Ying in front of everybody! I went crazy about it and had nobody to talk to, so I wrote this.

Summary
do you ever wonder what's going on in that very-unfamiliar-language fic in your tag? me too:)
this is an alternative-Tibet-AU, co-inspired by a handful of films like Kundun and Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion. Baze lives in misery and loses his faith long before the temple falls. but he's still a good man and wants to do something useful. therefore he makes a long and hard way through mountains to the Monastery of Golden Temple, known as the most effective charity centre, to become a monk. he receives a strange greeting there: nobody wants to take him in, which is no surprise, but the Seer of the Temple (guess who) overhears them and they will do what he wants.
then there's some kind of initiating ceremony, where Baze must fight the Seer hand to hand. there's no better testament of Force's existance than a blind man throwing you on your back again and again. In the end Baze is scared out of wits, but it will pass.
it's eating my brain for almost a year now. I was hoping that someone eventually will write it for me, but... you know)русским товарищам - читайте, там всего-то тысяча слов)

Summary
The briefing was simple: ‘Stand guard over the Michael Sword until the battle is ready to commence. Await further instructions.’
Castiel doesn’t mind working security duty; he was briefed shortly after the initial salvation of the Sword from the pit, and again before taking up his position. He knows what to do. However, it’s easy to forget that the green room isn’t real. Time moves differently there, the space ever-changing to make a prison of mountains, cathedrals, salt flats, orchards, and whatever Castiel was led to believe about Heaven’s greatest weapon—Dean Winchester is something entirely unexpected.

Summary
Aldo has never really been one to think much about penance.
“We honor God in a multitude of ways,” he’d told Thomas once. “I agree that discomfort is useful. We learn to turn away from our sins and commit to do better. I don't understand what mutilating yourself in His name is meant to accomplish. We were not put in this world to suffer, Thomas."
Thomas had been quiet for a long time. "It is a different thing, though," he'd said finally. "You will agree on that much at least. Self-harm is a sin. Self-flagellation has a place in doctrine."
Aldo had winced. "Next thing you'll tell me is you've joined Opus Dei. You don’t think confession is enough? Prayer?”
“I think mortification of the flesh has its place,” he’d said absently, eyes faraway.
“Does it serve a purpose, though, apart from hurting you? Does senseless pain really bring you any closer to Him?”
Thomas had barely flinched. Aldo had felt possessed by the urge to grab his jaw and direct him forward, look at me, look!
“We must repent, Aldo,” he’d said simply. "By whatever means necessary."
He’s always thought Thomas did enough repentance as it was for the two of them. He thinks he understands better now.

Summary
What they don’t tell you about getting older is that everything changes. Not just your body—though that too, of course. The creak of your knees, the low burn in your back, the way your muscles seem to protest even the simplest of tasks. He had braced for those changes.
Expected them, even. He had been told to anticipate the fading of his vision, the dimming of the world at its edges. He had prepared himself for the dulling of his hearing, for the tremor that would someday find its way into his hands, for the occasional misstep or the stumble that came without warning.
But no one told him that the world would change, too.
