Summary
“Peaceful.” Kunikuzushi quirked an eyebrow. “That’s a way to put it. I’d call it boring, personally.”
“Maybe.” Small motes of dust danced through a stale breeze scented of wood polish and old vents, golden sunlight seeped in through the front windows, and for a brief moment Kunikuzushi thought Kazuha had never looked more beautiful.
The man tilted his head back, sighing. “Life is so hectic. It’s wonderful, and I love it, but it would be nice to just… breathe once in a while.”
Kunikuzushi wasn’t exactly sure what to say to that, not being very well-versed in the department of casual social interaction. He didn’t have to figure it out, in the end. Kazuha’s voice, almost soft enough to be carried away with dust particles and oxygen molecules, spoke, “You’re the closest I can get to peace.”
Kunikuzushi decided he should get around to telling his mother to replace the missing “6” key on the cash register.

or: Kunikuzushi has a running theory that the customer who frequently visits his parents' music shop is also his favorite idol. He shouldn't be entertaining such a stupid theory as much as he does.

Summary
You’re difficult to be around, Kazuha thought, but he kept those words to himself and internally berated himself for so much as considering them.
Kazuha felt his smile was much more forced now. “Our partnership would be a lot easier if you did.”
In response to that, Scaramouche shifted into cat form with a poof, hopped up onto the side table, and swiped a paw at the lamp settled in the center. Kazuha watched blankly as it toppled to the floor and shattered, little shards of glass sent spinning across the floor.
Well. This was going to be a fun partnership.

or: Kazuha, a lone witch, accidentally ends up stuck with a familiar named Scaramouche. He’s not sure why exactly the angry little cat hates him so much, but considering they physically cannot leave each other, they’ll have to figure out how to get along eventually. (Even if it takes countless tears and shattered glasswares.)

Summary
Kazuha closed his eyes, but Kunikuzushi did not. Closing his eyes would mean forgetting the mortal boy on the other side of the glass, making this just another familiar moment of Kunikuzushi resting his head and waiting for his creator to come back. So instead, he stared at the boy before him, mapping every detail of his face in order to keep the blurring in his eyes at bay. Kazuha’s face was splattered with freckles and he had little dimples on the corners of his lips. There was a streak of crimson in his hair that Kunikuzushi was certain was the same color as his eyes. His cheeks were just slightly flushed, the beautiful peachy color spreading across the bridge of his nose.
Kunikuzushi wasn’t sure where the analysis came from, but he imagined Kazuha must be sunshine personified.
Kazuha opened his eyes, and in an indescribable moment of either malfunction or vulnerability, Kunikuzushi mouthed, “Free me.”

or: Kunikuzushi, an abandoned mechanical puppet, is found by a wandering Kazuha and learns that he is not as unfeeling as he thought he was.

Summary
“We’re both dead flowers,” Kuni said, his voice strained from stifling his cries. “Pathetic, ugly excuses for something beautiful.”
The world had trampled their flowers, crushing everything they once tried to hold dear until there was nothing left but an unrecognizable mess in the grass. Kazuha knew this as well as Kuni did and did not argue the statement. Instead, he simply squeezed Kuni’s hand and murmured, “At least we’re not alone.”

Summary
Quite honestly, Wanderer could easily sit here the entire day and find nothing else more mentally stimulating. A serene, calming place where he wasn’t to be bothered by any meddling individuals who couldn’t figure out the simplest of tasks.
“It’s a lovely view from up there, is it not?”
And, just like that, Wanderer’s morning was ruined.

or: Perhaps by fate, Wanderer and Kaedehara Kazuha meet on a cool Sumeru morning. Kazuha requests Wanderer to give him a tour of Sumeru City, and Wanderer realizes this is his chance to confess his crimes and atone for his past sins. All the while, he struggles with some confusingly soft feelings he finds he doesn’t quite understand.
