Through the frozen mist in the tank, a figure lurches toward the glass, fingers curling in the frost. Dark hair frozen in a seal-slick, like oil in viscous fluid. A naked torso, deathly pale and riddled with those blue veins like tributaries. One hand wrenches the cryotank mouthpiece away from his face, and the man in the tank bares his teeth in a snarl as he looks down at Xie Lian, and then stops.
“Oh,” Xie Lian breathes.
The man in the tank is a shade elf.

Summary
