Katniss Everdeen wakes up in District 12 two days before the 73rd Hunger Games after winning the war against the Capitol. Everything is back to normal, Prim is alive, District 12 is still in tact, and the boy with the bread hasn’t been hijacked.
She can’t let things play out the way they did last time. This is her one chance to get things right. But can she do it? Can she tell Peeta the truth about her feelings and embrace their future? Or are some things always meant to happen?

In a particularly harsh winter in 12, Katniss is once again finding that she is tied to Peeta Mellark, that he can bring her a sense of hope without even meaning to. When she winds up working in his family's bakery, she doesn't want to get to know him, doesn't want to add to the incalculable debt she feels she owes him. But she can't help but grow to appreciate him, even despite herself.
