He just- he confused you. All the old euphemisms, the casual sexism, his grumpiness with the 'modern' times. It was to be expected given his age, but it didn't mean you wanted to be sat here listening to all of that. If you wanted to give yourself a headache, Vought News was readily available.
And there was that whole other thing of him not knowing you were trans.

Sam's face contorted in annoyance as he tugged Dean's laundry out of the washing machine. He always had this habit of leaving it in, every single time without fail. He swore he'd actually lose it the next time he was stuck emptying out the machine after Dean used it.
To his relief, he'd finally reached the bottom of the pile, and at first he sighed softly when he removed them. Then all the annoyance drained from his face - replaced with a ton of confusing emotions at once. Mostly shock, surprise, a bit of awe, perhaps.
He couldn't quite believe what had caught his eye - or rather, his fingers. It was, undoubtedly, a pair of white lacy underwear.

Well, Sam’s hugging. Dean takes a second to catch up, but as soon as he does, his arms are tight around his brother. He closes his eyes, face pressed against soft brown hair, and takes the deepest breath he’s ever had to. He can’t let himself get carried away. It’s not normal, it’s not right to feel like this.
“Yeah,” he whispers, not even sure if Sam can hear it over the roaring fireworks. A little bit louder, he says, “you’re welcome, kid.”---
