Summary
"You really must listen to me carefully! None of your carrying off, thinking you’re doing what’s best.”
“I would not dream of it, sir.”
“Because this is treacherous terrain, my dear man.” I stepped over a teddy-bear holding a fluffy heart, and put a finger to his rather firm chest. “One wrong move and I could be married to Bobbie Wickham before the Ides even put March in the datebook.”
“I understand, sir.”

Valentine's Day brings a mere hundred or thousand problems for Bertie's cosy bachelor establishment. Pure plotless domestic fluff, with a bit of Thoreau, because that's their idea of romance, of course. -

Summary
Jeeves returned my smile with his own twitch of the lips, and wiped a speck of dust from one of the birds. “Your aunt has been imbued with the festive spirit, sir, despite the delay.”
How right he was, I thought.
“She would never let me down.” I felt foolish for my behaviour, like a petulant child who hadn’t learned the virtues of gratitude. “She’s family, you know. We share the same blood in our veins. Of course she wouldn’t let me down.”

Bertie's Christmas cheer is restored by a gift from his - usually not-so-deserving - aunt. It's thoughtful, it's generous, and it's from Agatha. Definitely, absolutely, from Agatha. -

Summary
I knew arguing was futile; Jeeves always has some sneaky means of besting me without words. Bicycles, dropped vases – something along those lines. I’ve never had much in stock of grey cells, so I swallowed all my defiant remarks about feudality and young masters and resolute blighters, and tried to hide from the inevitable.
“I’m sorry, old thing. I want to keep it.”

Summary
“I find, sir, that my back is sore. It is merely a discomfort, nothing to trouble yourself over.”
“Hm. And what is causing this, do you suspect?”
The corner of his eyebrow twitched. “Age, sir. In time we shall all lose the glory of the form.”
I pondered this. I suppose that’s just how life works; the added years weigh upon your spine like boulders on the shoulders, but there ought to be something I could do about it. I raided the cerebellum for a solution, and it didn’t take a minute for a rather obvious one to drop into my lap.

Summary
“I’m ruined! Oh, I wish you and I had met before that deuced engagement, maybe then I could’ve escaped Florence-free.”
“...Indeed, sir.”
-
Jeeves lets slip that before they officially met, there might have, perhaps, maybe, been a slight overlap in their times at Bumpleigh Hall. And he was very normal about it.
