Summary
It was unexpected. Tsurugi started focusing more on Yuka's cancer and preventing her fight with Dabura, but that feeling surfaced whenever he heard Maru's name or thought about him. His heart raced, and he felt a strange sensation in his stomach. He just kept thinking about that silly smile Maru had when they first met. That alien stirred up so many things in Tsurugi. It was unexpected for him. Tsurugi is a fool when it comes to love. He first liked Mizuho-chan when he was little, but he never fell in love again. Now, though, it's Maru. He doesn't consider himself gay; he's possibly bisexual, he doesn't know. But the most important question is, does Maru like Tsurugi too? He hasn't seen him in a long time, not since Yakumaru shot Cross, but he hates knowing Maru is sad.

Summary
Maru pushes himself off of him, and falls on his back next to him. Tsurugi's vision blurs, the world dissolving, until it's just the two of them. Laying on the ground like open wounds.
“Shut up, Maru. Don’t make me regret not killing you.”
“As if you could have,” Maru says. His face turned to the stars above. And for a moment Tsurugi wonders what Maru is looking for every time he looks up into the vast darkness of the night sky irritated with stars.
Tsurugi exhales. “You—You still haven’t realised it, have you?”
Maru turns to face him. A confused look on his face. The way the stars reach down to sparkle in his eyes, to lighten the dark shadows that have come to settle into his hair, makes Tsurugi’s heart flutter against his chest. He doesn’t look away. Not now, not ever.
“I might not be able to take you out in a fight,” there is a pause in his words, as if it could make the gravity of what he is about to say less frightening. “But I could have slit your throat the second you passed out.”
“Then why haven’t you?”
or Whether you come as a lover or an executioner, I am ready to receive you.

Giving in to impulse, he reached out to take the finger only to pause at an unnatural sight of black marks appearing around his wrist that was already inside the Stevenson screen.
“I would appreciate it if you left him alone,” came a voice from behind him, “it took quite the effort to put him to rest so if you disturb him now, we’ll have an even bigger problem in our hands.”
A threat like that didn’t exactly sway Dabura’s feelings but the marks seemed convincing enough. Even if Simurians were far superior in cursed energy control, there was no guarantee they wouldn’t be harmed by humans’ cursed techniques.
So, he withdrew his hand carefully and slowly turned around to face his would-be assailant.
