He recognises TK immediately because he’s been sweeping up in the award categories. He offers an apology but it’s barely out of his mouth.
“Save it. You know, I cannot believe Mateo lost to boring missionary for repressed country hicks.” TK sneers at him. “Cute fake humble speech though. Billy taught you well.”
Carlos was so taken aback he barely managed to get out a shocked, “excuse me?”

Summary
TK walks in the front door just in time to hear Carlos curse, followed by a loud, metallic clatter. He hastily throws his bag and jacket down and rushes in to see what’s happened. He’s greeted by the sight of Carlos with his face buried in his hands, slumped over the counter, breathing heavily. A pile of vegetables sits uncut on the cutting board beside him, the chef’s knife laying on the floor as if it’s been dropped. TK approaches Carlos and gingerly places his hand on his back but quickly pulls away when he flinches. Instead, he leans down carefully and picks up the knife, placing it safely in the sink.

This is Debaser but with trans Billy. I personally consider this the true version.
Sometimes I just want to read stuff with people who have my anatomy and sometimes dysphoria kicks my ass, so I wanted to make a version of this for either occasion. Gonna do my best to update both at the same time moving forward.
Before, they were only as close as Billy let anyone get, but lately the distance between them has been shrinking. He’s not the kind of guy who likes to talk about himself. Mostly he listens, prods, collects, but never offers. He learned young that when you’ve got a brain like he does you can’t afford to tell people what you’re thinking or how you really feel. Stu isn’t one of those people though, Stu has to keep his thoughts secret too and now this is theirs to keep, between them.
