Summary
It was early morning. Three, maybe four, and Theo knew he was right in between being awake and sleeping. His mind was wandering, and his body was floating, but he could still hear when Liam turned off the movie. He saw through his eyelids when the lamp beside him was turned off. And he knows he felt it when Liam draped the blanket over him. However, as he drifted further into sleep, he couldn’t be sure if Liam’s calloused fingers had really lightly brushed his forehead as he pushed a strand of hair back.
ORIn their senior year, Theo and Liam get paired to do a school project together. This project is the spark that sets off a fire between the two of them. Liam navigates becoming a stand-in alpha and living with his IED; Theo tries to start his life again while being homeless. Even in these intense circumstances and with their past history, they grow close. Theo finds people who care about him and has a chance at a teenage romance.
I'm incredibly bad at summaries, but I swear my actual writing is better. Also, I promise this has a happy ending.

The difference is that back then, there was someone who could bring Hayden back to life, but this time there’s no one that can do the same for Theo.

“Why?” Theo finally asked after a few seconds of silence.
“You told me to do what I want and what will make me happy, I've been told so many goddamn times today that tomorrow isn't guaranteed. So, I can go to Prom alone and be sitting there wondering who exactly Theo I-don’t-know-your-second-name is or I can spend it with you, figuring exactly that out.” Liam explained, his hands felt clammy and sweaty suddenly at the thought that he had just made one big fool out of himself and scared Theo off.
