Summary
"Oh damn," Nichols muttered, taking another step back, his boots sticking slightly to the floor from the blood. What the hell had he been thinking? What if someone had heard that? Getting caught stealing was one thing, but a murder? All he'd done was get himself in a bigger mess than he'd started with - and he was covered in the evidence of his crime.
--
The aftermath of the death of Pasqua, and how Nichols gets away with it.

Summary
Nichols' entire body went numb. Every inch of him felt clammy and cold, like he was a stranger in his own body. He wanted nothing more than to cry out, yet the scream died in his throat, and all he managed was a whimper. Unable to keep himself balanced, he slipped off the bench and into the bottom of the boat, curling up into a ball. He just wanted it to stop. For it to all be over. For the creatures to go away.
A retelling of The Calling from Nichols' perspective.
