A few people are staring at them and the hot burn of shame prickles at his neck, but Brett’s biting his lower lip and Eddy can feel victory coming. He knew the moment he won; the hesitation remaining on Brett’s face is now only for show.
“Okay, alright, I’ll come,” he relents. “But you’re annoying.”
“Yes! You can come sleep at my place after! We can watch scary stuff and eat junk all night!”
Brett is shaking his head as he orders the two bubble tea for them, but Eddy can catch the smile on his face.
