Bonded over spiked punch, and somewhat Namjoon made him try a cigarette as the stars above them watched, as if it would be the audience, and they already knew where this would all go.
He wished they had told him, probably given him the sign, given him the answers, that he shouldn't have fallen for someone like Kim Namjoon.
That he will waste a person with potential, turning him into dust, will be remembered for some time, but soon can be forgotten once the ones who remembered him are also gone.
But of course, the stars could only watch, from afar, just like how Namjoon watched him from afar back then.

The wizarding world's war has ended, but Kim Namjoon's feelings towards Jeon Jungkook (his best friend turned into boyfriend then, ex-boyfriend) hasn't. And even if Jungkook had married former schoolmate Kim Mingyu, Namjoon was still accepting this tragedy. Returning after a year from the Muggleworld, he had found himself trapped in a gigantic mess that he can't undo. So much to his distaste.
While on the other hand, Kim Seokjin, the only heir of the pureblooded Kim line and a former death eater who wanted to live differently from his past, he who struggled to have his name out from the slums, just can’t seem to escape his persistent mother, who only hopes for his only son’s happiness.
Add into the mix a determined matchmaker who’ll stir everything into place and form a make-believe hoax.

Seokjin and Namjoon were supposed to get married but Namjoon got cold feet because of his fear that Seokjin might leave him after getting married, he read somewhere in some book or magazine that marriages can only just make couples break for some odd reason.
Namjoon ran out of their wedding ceremony leaving Seokjin behind, confused and deeply hurt. They never saw each other again after a few years.
Only for Namjoon to find himself in another wedding, being bombarded with questions of when will it be his turn, that every partner he had, he always run away from— or break up with, until they came to a conclusion or to reminiscing about the groom, the almost husband Seokjin.

Kim Seokjin was pretty sure he only had a crush on Kim Namjoon, but crushes actually develops into something else, whats worse is that it can actually become a deadly disease.
canon divergence - canon fusion + world with hanahaki
Seokjin isn't out, and he isn't open about his feelings for NJ (perhaps he's delusional and downplayed the depths of his feelings)
But! He contracts a strange new disease, hanahaki (or option for author to make it a preexisting disease well-known in this universe) and has to finally confront his feeling + gain the courage to come out.

Namjoon was one of the finest bachelors in the city. A brilliant singer, rapper, songwriter. He was a model, a spokesperson, and an advocate. Who wouldn't want to be him or be with him? Namjoon never gave a damn about any of those things because the only one he wanted was clearly out of reach even with the qualities listed off that made him eligible to many.
