And this was this biggest problem of all with him - his rational side - his Kamukura side - knew everything. So he knew he wasn’t really dying, but it felt so much like he was about to have a heart attack and collapse. Inside his mind he called it Izuru vs Hajime, the rational vs the emotional, the perfect human vs the flawed.
Which was stupid, because he was both Izuru and Hajime, as his image of the mirror often reminded him. And he hated it.
As he reached the beach, another thought came up - it was just so funny how all he had wanted Before was to be special. Now he would give everything to be average again.
