Summary
After being adopted by Aizawa Shouta and Yamada Hizashi, Shinsou Hitoshi struggles to get used to life in a real family. It's a little difficult, but things are generally good, and Hitoshi finds himself starting to rediscover the parts of his childhood that he missed out on.
It helps that Aizawa's there through it, a constant in Hitoshi's life, and Hitoshi looks up to him more than ever. Somewhere along the line, Aizawa stops becoming his personal hero and starts becoming the parent he's never had.

Hitoshi frowns at him—he didn’t need to point that out.
Sensei gets up with cracking knees and slides onto the stretcher with him, putting an arm around him. Hitoshi, just this once, shamelessly accepts it.
“I didn’t need a hug,” he grumbles, just because he feels the need to.
“This is not for you,” Sensei grumbles back.
the kids get their tonsils out. everyone freaks out about it.

His skin pulls tight, and a vague ripple wanders down his spine, an urge to shift and protect searing as he stuffs it down and reaches in with two blood-slicked palms.
Dry patches of soft down catches and sticks to his hands, but more hot crimson also coats them as he gently lifts the pup out from beneath entrails.
A girl, judging by her scent.
Earthy, green - maybe a little spiced.
It’s hard to tell with so much of her blood intermingled with what he thinks must be her mama's and her other fallen packmate.
Distantly, he feels Tess come to hover behind him, her hand now braced firmly on the same shoulder she’d been tender with only minutes ago. “Is it still alive?” Her voice shakes and her scent shifts, turning startled and unsure.
The low whine and broken whimper that whistles out of the pup as he clears the protective curve of the two dead wolves says yes.
The pained twist and wiggle as she pants says that she may not be for long.
Christ almighty she’s little.
Ain’t supposed to shift this young, shouldn't be able to.

If he had known he would be forced to drink this damn tea in such quantities, he would have thought four times before getting sick.
