Feelings and affectionate bantery sex with no plot to speak of, set between Season 4 and Season 5, while the Big House is under construction but before Bree’s wedding. So Fergus and Marsali are newly arrived, and she’s pregnant with Joan. Some book canon bits too, see endnotes.
Inspired by the fact that all the banter about Claire in pants from Drums of Autumn was not in Season 4-- hopefully this isn't too much of a retread. When I looked it up I found prior commentary that the times she does wear pants on the show, they’re a pair of Young Ian’s.

Jamie Fraser’s picture is in the dictionary under “wifeguy” even if he and Claire are both too old to know the word.
Some interludes set generally in Seasons 4 and 5 of the show. Title is taken from the first line of Catullus 5, the "Give me a thousand kisses" poem that is Claire's ring inscription.
The story relies on show canon for Marsali’s character and when she gets to North Carolina, rather than DOA, since we see her in Wilmington in S4 and presumably she got to the Ridge before the wedding episode. Also assumes everyone just kind of hung out in Wilmington after Bonnet’s capture in episode 5.10, including Roger and Bree. But I banish them pretty quickly in favor of more J/C romance.
There are bits of book canon from TFC here, especially that Jamie doesn’t tend to give Claire flowers and Roger has good Gaelic. Joan Fraser’s names are taken from her TFC baptism.

This story is written by myself and Tinker001. It is loosely based on canon and explores a possibility that could have occurred if the characters were younger and circumstances slightly different. As my co-writer reminded me, Diana Gabaldon admitted to not being good at keeping track of the ages of characters, so we’ve decided it’s not too remiss of us to adjust their ages to fit the narrative of our story.
For the sake of the story we want to tell, Claire is 49, Jamie 44 and John 36.
We have adjusted the time when Jamie returned to Scotland to shortly after Lord John’s visit to Fraser’s Ridge with young William. His reasons for visiting his homeland are therefore different.
