Summary
"The Paladin stands at the edge of the map, his sword heavy, his quest complete. But what happens when the Great Evil is slain, and the hero still feels like he’s losing?"
One year has passed since the fall of Vecna. One year since Eleven’s sacrifice. Mike has done everything he was supposed to do: he mourned, he healed, and he finally turned the page. By all accounts, he should be moving on.
But as the dust settles, Mike realizes that "victory" feels hollow. He isn't happy, and he doesn't know why ; until Will starts moving on, too. Watching his best friend fall for someone else sparks a realization that no D&D manual could have prepared him for.
Mike is about to learn that defeating a dark wizard was the easy part ; the real battle is realizing there isn't just one way out of the closet.

Summary
“They think we’re heroes because we’re dead. Let’s keep it that way.”
The world knows how it ended: the gates closed, Vecna fell, and William Byers died a martyr to save Hawkins. Mike Wheeler was supposed to be the one to deliver the final blow. Instead, he chose a different path - one paved with treason and the blood of the soldiers who tried to stand in his way.
Now, two years later, life is a cycle of silence and shadows in a cabin that feels more like a sanctuary than a prison; or perhaps it’s both. Will is no longer just Will; he is a vessel for the rot that refused to die, a beautiful, terrifying echo of the Upside Down. And Mike?
Mike has become his keeper, his hands stained by the secrets he keeps to ensure Will never looks back. -
