Summary
Hanma took a long drag of his cigarette. His expression was sharp and cold. A hazy cloud of smoke lingered in the stagnant air. He tilted his head to the side, eyeing you, scrutinising you.It took everything in you to seem confident in front of this man.
He ran that golden, calculated gaze of his over your figure but for some reason it didn't make your skin crawl. It made your skin feel too tight and your insides too hot.
"Why are ya here tonight?" he asked.
You ground your jaw. "It's a Friday night. I came here to see the club." Which wasn't a lie necessarily.
"Hm," Hanma hummed, staring down at you. "With Matsuno Chifuyu?" There was disbelief and humour in his eyes.
"Nope," you said, popping the p. "Came here alone."
"Ah," he breathed. After a pause, he asked, "Do you know Matsuno Chifuyu?"
You sucked your teeth, getting tired of this questioning. "I've heard of him but didn't come here with him."
Hanma huffed a laugh-- a low dark sound from his chest.
You weren't fooling this man, you realised to your horror. What a stupid mistake it was to attempt to lie.

Summary
Hanma Shuji finds himself in deeper than he planned when Bonten’s newest cash-cow refuses to play by the rules of the games he’s ruined so many women with. After she refuses to bend the knee to those with the egos to believe they’re above her, what was initially a dismissal of his own jealousy takes him down a path he’d never considered when he is relegated to being a bench-warmer for Haitani Rindou.
Rejecting her spurn for his actions which have always been brushed off due to his good looks and cocky attitude that never failed to charm, Hanma is left with no choice but to accept his losses, or get exceedingly extreme in order to win the woman back as she quickly makes a name for herself in the criminal underworld and no longer needs him at all.
Hanma Shuji was known for many things: losing had never been one.
