Summary
Roll the tapes back to 2008, just as Tony Stark went missing. Only this time, the story goes slightly differently because when Tony ends up in that cave in Afghanistan, it's not just alongside Ho Yinsen. This time, he has a reason from within to fight to get back home, and when he does, he's certainly not the Tony Stark the world or his friends remembered -- and he's also not alone.
This is not an original concept, but I wanted to try my hand at rewriting the MCU if Peter was Tony's biological son and had been in the cave with Tony the whole time.

It was Ned's fault, well that was wrong it was actually Jameson's fault for only giving him twenty-four hours to get pictures of something front page worthy before he was fired. Then Ned had given him the tip about some raid going down by the docks, and it was just his luck when it wasn't a police raid but one gang versus another. Then he had been spotted by James Rhodes, Tony Stark's right-hand man. That's why he's hanging from ropes in a room waiting to be interrogated by none other than Tony Stark himself.
