    At first, Barnaby thinks it will be easy. He can just come out and say it, right? He's a hero, he looks death in the face daily, surely he can have a conversation with his partner.

    Except then Kotetsu is looking at him, his eyes big and brown and his smile wide and toothy and every intelligent thought Barnaby has ever had abandons him. He's left with no functioning brain cells, staring at Kotetsu like he hung the stars in the sky.

    Kotetsu can understand liking your leafy greens, even if he doesn’t quite indulge in that part of the food pyramid as much as he should (at least according to his mother – Kotetsu thinks that peas, carrots, and onions in his fried rice should count for something). Still, he wouldn’t really consider flowers a “vegetable”.

    Maybe it’s because they’re called honeysuckles? Could they be sweet?

    Kotetsu gets afflicted with by a NEXT ability causing him to eat flowers. A reverse hanahaki story.

    If someone had asked him a year or two ago about what he'd think about Kotetsu as a teacher, he probably wouldn't give his partner as fair of a shake as he deserved. Kotetsu is messy, sometimes a bit flighty and a vehement hater of paperwork, all things that would make this job difficult on him.

    He's also really good with people, however, and the pride on his face when a student answers one of his questions correctly is genuine.
