ShuAke Week 2020 Day 1: Hope / Stars / Fantasy
Ren spent his days in a quiet town known mostly for its abundant soybean farms, one particularly good ramen shop, and being Ren’s hometown. He enjoyed late walks at night, secure in the knowledge that nothing bad had ever happened there, and nothing ever would.

Summary
It’s been, by Ryuji’s rough estimation, two months now. Two months and Ren—Ren Amamiya, his confidant, his partner-in-crime, his very best friend in the whole world—still hasn’t introduced him to the guy he’s dating. Or shown him a picture. Or given him a name. Or anything!
But it’s fine. It’s fine. Ryuji can be supportive while also being held completely in the dark, it’s fine.
He’s literally going to die if he doesn’t meet this guy soon.

“What do you want, Joker?” Goro snarls down at him, canines bared, and Ren’s messed-up heart decides this is the moment to shift into a faster gear.
“What do you think? A little birdie told me you were lurking around, so I had to see for myself.”

The hunt, the dance, the game. 20 years later, they’re still playing.

Summary
Goro finally glances over at them from across the bar, oh-so-casually. He raises his glass to Ren in the smallest of salutes, with the smallest of smirks, and then settles his attention firmly back on the woman he’s sitting next to.
“He knows we’re here,” Ren announces. He’s probably known for a while. Embarrassing.
“Damn it,” Ryuji shares a weary look with Ann. “Guess that’s it then. I’ll grab the first round.”

Summary
June, 20XX.
Each passing day brings new challenges, and each passing day brings his plan closer to fruition.
So, who cares if he keeps remembering things that never happened? So what if there are eight Phantom Thieves, rather than the three he expected? And so what if their leader has proven surprisingly adept at avoiding him?
None of it matters. A new game is starting, and Akechi Goro is going to win it.

One Thief’s struggle to take it easy - Ren takes Goro on a tour of Tokyo the day before everything ends. Extremely inspired by Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

“Oh, Akechi,” Joker says, smiling like a nightmare, “the question isn’t what are we going to do. The question is what aren’t we going to do.”

Summary
Goro Akechi wakes up on Christmas Eve. He’s in his apartment, phone by his side, no Meta Nav to be found. What the hell happened to him?
A post-canon fix-it in which Akechi finds a place to belong. Only because he has nothing better to do, of course.
