When that lightning had pierced his chest it had done something. There was something undeniably different about his body to her. Lightning seemed to ripple beneath his skin, pulse through his veins, crackle with every breath he took.
Now she could remember the little things from their time together. Her fingers sliding through his silky black hair, the blazing sun warming their bodies on the beach, and his eyes. Soft and tender, he’d looked at her like she was the most wonderful thing he’d ever seen. Her heart hurt at the fear that she’d never again see that warmth in his eyes.
