Summary
Rudo lifts himself up from Follo’s neck and looks down at him.
His pupils are now dilated, his face relaxed. He tilts his head at Follo, simply looking at him with those feral eyes before the sound in his chest becomes more consistent, warmer, more pleasant.
Follo gasps in surprise as Rudo is finally lets out a strong, raspy purr before flopping right on top of him, chest meeting chest, stomach meeting stomach, fluffy hair tickling Follo’s cheek as he burrows his face in the crook of Follo’s neck. Rudo squirms a little, making happy little noises as his arms wrap around Follo’s torso underneath his coat before settling, now content on top of Follo’s body and taking in his warmth.
Follo stares up at the ceiling, eyes as wide as dinner plates and arms hovering over Rudo’s back, absolutely bewildered, before a hot red flush begins to take over his face and he begins to stutter.
“Huh?”
~
Or, when Rudo is set off into a feral state and a sudden heat by a failed kidnap attempt and Follo has to take care of him.

Summary
It's been twenty-one years since Enjin had been given that watch by that man who had changed the direction of his life without even thinking about it. Twenty-one years of not having seen him again, nor the small child he had in his arms, safe under his coat in the rain. Twenty-one years of searching with nothing to show for it but having made his own life, his own family, and his own connections, while the ones he's wanted there the most are mysteriously nowhere to be found.
Enjin's luck is something else, because somehow it just makes sense that he would meet one of them after more than two decades later, the one who looked at him with those bright red eyes in that man's arms all those years ago, in one of the most unexpected and worst places one could think of.
The strip club, with Enjin as a customer. and the other as a dancer who works there.

Summary
"What about Rudo?" He said, urgent, just a hint of a snarl. He took an aborted step forward and stopped, settling for resting his weight on one leg and jiggling the other to let out his restless energy.
"He's, shit, get BACK from him Zanka! I'm not joking!" Another indiscriminate yell, a pained sound followed by cursing. "I think he's presenting!"
He let out a sigh through clenched teeth. Well, fuck. This wasn't exactly a common occurance among the Cleaners but it wasn't exactly rare. Corvus was never picky about recruiting young, after all, and he knew Bro lived in fear of the day Dear and Gita hit that particular milestone and was hoping against hope it wouldn't happen when they were out in the field.
Like he said: he always got the shittiest luck.
"You know the procedure, Gris." He grunted, regretting putting out his cig. He should've known Rudo would turn out to be an aggressive alpha on rut-brain. He was aggressive enough when he was completely sober-minded.
"He's not an alpha!" Gris all but hollered, and Enjin's entire body locked up.
"He's-" He started to say, but Gris cut him off.
"I think he's a Prime, Enjin!"
Fuck.

Summary
Sacrificed by the clinical, frozen Sphere to secure advanced technology from the surface, ten-year-old Rudo falls into the Pit wrapped in a wedding shiromuku that is entirely too big for him.
He expects a dark prison; instead, he finds Zanka Nijiku, a fiercely protective young alpha who vows to become a weapon strong enough to shield him from the world. As they grow, their unyielding bond transforms a political trade into a savage, consuming love—one that will force the heavens to bow to the rules of the dirt.

Summary
“You don't smell annoying, Rudo.”
“Don't lie to me... Aren't you supposed to be trying to fight me or lock me in a room or something?”
When Rudo unexpectedly presents as an Omega, he braces himself for the absolute worst. He’s a cleaner, not anyone’s fragile prize and he definitely doesn't want his hot-headed Alpha rival, Zanka, seeing him weak. But instead of the mockery he fears, Zanka finds an unexpected, grounding peace in Rudo's presence.
The walls go right back up after Rudo recovers, but a high-stakes mission changes everything. Poisoned during an ambush by Jabber, Zanka sinks into a deep, forced slumber only to wake up in a silent, moonlit scape with a very familiar presence clinging to his side.

Summary
Not for the first time has a nightmare woken him from sleep. Rest has never come gently to Rudo.
Ever since his fall from the Sphere, sleep isn't a refuge - it's a trap. Again and again, the dark gives him Regto bloodied and dying, begging him to run, while the faces of the Sphere residents blur into hollow, accusing shapes that scream murder until the word seems to split the air apart. Sometimes the dreams narrow themselves to his hands, to the scars his parents left there, throbbing with a pain so fierce, it feels alive. Waking up drowning in his own panic is a solitary ritual. Or, it used to be.
Because the Abyss is cruel, but the Cleaners protect their own. And when the screaming in Rudo's head gets too loud to bear, there is one person who refuses to let him drown.
Or: Five times Rudo finds comfort in Enjin, who keeps his nightmares at bay, and discovers how it feels to fall in love along the way.

Summary
CHIWA <3: omg i’m so sorry rudo, i forgot we had a date today! Can we reschedule?
The text sits there on her phone, neat and casual and devastating.
She’s standing right outside the restaurant she was supposed to meet Chiwa at. She waited for thirty minutes. Thirty long, humiliating minutes, checking the door every time it opened, flinching every time someone brushed past her. And then it started to rain. And then—like it was waiting for the right moment to really twist the knife—the text came.
Rudo doesn't know what she’s supposed to feel.
Disappointment, yes. That’s there, heavy and obvious. Understanding, too—of course Chiwa has more important things to do than remember a date with Rudo. And anger. Sharp, biting anger directed squarely at herself for actually thinking she was getting somewhere. For letting herself believe that maybe this time was different.
(Or: Rudo experiences what has got to be one of the worst days of her life, and—just when she thinks it can’t get any worse—she gets caught dumpster diving. Just great.)
