Summary
Louis clears his throat before he does something unwise like kiss him. “It’s a rainfall shower. Humans have developed a lot of useful things in the last century.”
“I like Siri,” Lestat tells him, with a tone of grave importance.
“Yeah,” Louis replies, finding himself smiling again. “I know you do.”
Or: In the aftermath of the reunion, Louis takes Lestat back to his hotel.

Summary
The first sound Ilya hears is a thin, discordant symphony of beeps and whirs. Something vibrating.
The next thing he hears is…wet. A sort of shaking, gargling sound, that feels like the ugliest crying he’s ever heard. And through it, Shane’s voice.
“I’m with him now, mom. He’s— he’s not fine. He’s not. I know—”
Ilya wants to ask who's not fine, but he can’t feel his own body, his mouth, enough to ask.
“Yeah,” Shane is saying, only slightly calmer. “I know. He wasn’t breathing—"
Ilya knows there's a link, between the clinical musicality of medical settings, Shane’s audible, awful distress, and his own physical incapacity. It’s just, it’s so tenuous, and the air around him is so thick, so heavy. It would be easy, to sleep, a little.
-
Footage of the last game between Ottawa and Montreal is everywhere; it’s breached containment from the sports world, and now it seems like everyone is baying for Montreal’s blood. Except, Ilya is oblivious. Not exactly blissfully so, but as the fight for accountability within the league rages on without him, Ilya just wants someone, anyone, to tell him what happened. -

Summary
To be clear, Ilya is grateful the rookies aren’t growing up the way he did in the NHL. Ilya took the hazing to the chin – humiliation rituals, beat downs, grueling practices to prove he could “hang” with the big guns on the team.
That being said, there’s still some part of Ilya that balks at the request by the gaggle of rookies to watch The Iron Giant, a veritable children’s movie at the team’s latest movie night.
OR: Five times Shane and Ilya were the support system for the Centaur rookies they dreamed of having when they were younger.

Summary
"You see that?"
"yea," Ilya breathed, and he absolutely did see that. He'd been seeing that for months now, catching glimpses of Shane across campus, in the library, at the campus coffee shop where Shane always ordered the same thing; green tea. Ilya had maybe (definitely) developed what could only be described as a massive fucking crush, not that he'd admit it to anyone.
"No one," Jake said, drawing out the words like he was making a dramatic announcement, "has ever bagged Hollander. Not once. The guy's basically allergic to giving anyone below his iq level a chance. But you—" he jabbed a finger into Ilya's chest, "—If anyone could do it, it's you."
Ilya's alcohol-drawned brain was already latching onto the challenge before Jake even finished. "So what is the bet exactly?"
"One month. You get Hollander to go out with you, really go out with you like proper dating and I'll give you a thousand bucks."
It was the most idiotic idea he’s ever heard come out of Jake’s mouth (and that's saying a lot), so like any sane person; Ilya should just say no and move on with his life–
"Deal."

Summary
“My flight is early tomorrow,” Rozanov says. He bites his lip. Shane’s eyes stick there too. “You look in hallway, yes?”
Shane sticks his head out. The hallway is empty.
Would it hurt? To go another round? Rozanov has to fly out early anyway, it’s hardly like they’ll be spending time befriending each other. What is one night, when they’ve already crossed the line with eyes wide open?
“Shit,” he says. “There’s a couple at the end of the hallway, arguing, you know? You better wait until they leave.”
OR
Shane lies, that first night, to keep Rozanov to himself a little longer. The changes spiral out from there.
