Keith and Lance had gotten closer in the past year. After 3 years of high school spent hating each other without valid reason, the forced proximity seemed to strengthen their bond.. somewhat. It just so happened that ending up in the same classes everywhere didn’t make it too easy to avoid someone. Keith didn’t expect it to escalate from a ‘casual acquaintances’ relationship. But it became so much more and it was absolutely killing him. Between Lance’s parents wanting to meet ‘the friend who saved their son’s grades’ and the memories they’ve shared, it wouldn’t be accurate for Keith to think of the other as his friend. Not exactly. Senior year changed his life, but was it really for the better?
