"Basically, Professor Chase. Almost all of our last DADA teachers have fallen on the more murderous side," a boy in blue said forlornly. "I think it's because of Harry Potter. They really do like trying to kill him." The class murmured in agreement.
It took everything in Annabeth to not stare at them aghast. She really needed to teach Dumbledore what a background check was.

Annabeth Chase is issued a quest and she wants to scream. Quest? Could she even call it a quest? Either way, while learning magic and teaching a bunch of mini-wizard students simultaneously was not on her winter break agenda, she still took it on without complaint, intent on completing it as efficiently as possible.
However, it turns out the Wizarding World is horrendously incompetent and perhaps a tad bit fucked up, and Annabeth knows she can never say no to a challenge. She rebuilt Olympus -- how hard could rebuilding an entire magical society be?

The door slammed open, hitting the wall adjacent to it, opposed to how Kayla had just slid silently into the classroom. The classroom spun a little as Benjy stared at the person standing in the doorway and... what? He took a moment to squint because there was no way that was-- holy shit it was.
Because standing there, from the pair of his faded pink Converse shoes to his ruffled black hair was Percy fucking Jackson.

If there was one thing Dustin ought to know about Mike Wheeler, it was that he never answered his phone.
So the first sign that something was up was, on reflection, the little click and the silence between the dial tone and somebody answering.
It's the '90s, and Dustin phones Mike in San Francisco more often than he ever expected to. Most of the time, Mike doesn't pick up. But, sometimes, the call is answered by one of Mike's friends. One of Mike's invariably male friends. One of Mike's numerous invariably male friends.
It takes Dustin way longer than it should to work out what's going on.

“Forever?”
Though the camera doesn’t catch it, Joyce and Jonathan exchange an amused look over the rearview.
Then, the footage splices, rapidly cutting through various points in life—Will and Mike’s first time hanging out at the Byers’; Mike coming over for Will’s birthday; Will coming over for Mike’s. Flashes of middle school that stretched into those final days before they left for Lenora. High school, graduation, moving day—the clips start blurring into one another as more pop up, but it stops on a clip of Mike and Will, probably around six years old, giggling as they try to handle the camera.
“We’ll see about forever, honey.”
(or, the one where jonathan byers has a lot of stocked up video footage from when mike and will were kids, and decides that the best time to reveal them is during his best man speech at their wedding.)

Summary
Mike is no stranger to a little moral ambiguity, and mind reading is far more harmless than burying a body without telling anyone. So he dives in. Will smiles at him, and Mike prompts his brain to figure out why.
He finds nothing.
This is… odd.
OR
Mike gets telepathic powers randomly, three years after Vecna’s defeat. He tunes into people’s thoughts, expecting every guy’s mind to be like his. When he finds surprisingly few gay thoughts about best friends, he’s forced to re-evaluate and see if maybe it’s just him? (it is.)
It doesn’t help that the one mind he wants to read the most seems to be set to a different frequency entirely.

Summary
Nearly two years after graduating from Hawkins High, Will Byers had what he’d always wanted. Control. He’s in charge of his life day in and day out.
Mike can’t sleep, write, or do much of anything, really.
Mike didn’t show up to the airport last summer, and Will didn’t come back to Indiana - until he found himself on the Wheelers’ doorstep at Christmas.
In which Mike and Will haven’t spoken in over a year, and neither of them quite know how they ended up on a road trip back to California as roommates.
Or, with a little bravery, some interference from friends old and new, and a whole lot of butter, Mike and Will might actually stand a chance of being honest with each other and getting what they want.

That seems to click something in the woman’s head, because in three seconds flat, she’s pulling her helmet back and staring her dark eyes dead into Will’s.
Will’s eyes widen and he hears Jane’s shocked gasp beside him.
Underneath the helmet, underneath all the scars and jagged lines, stares back—
“I am Michaela Childress, firstborn daughter of House Acer, Sworn Paladin to the Kingdom of Holkins, and Right Hand to the Queen Regent.” She seethes, the hard line in her jaw tightening as she glowers at Will. “The Queen Regent, whose face you have adapted as your own.”
Okay, so it’s not just him.
This woman clearly looks like Mike.
(or, the one where michaela childress is all but a lonely paladin that misses her wife so much that she risks her life, jumps into an unknown portal, and inadvertently causes distress and awakens realizations among the local populace.)
