He looks like a mess, his hair stuck to his forehead, his cheeks red and sweat dripping down his chin, landing on his uniform collar. He waits one, two, three seconds before swallowing the pill.
Nothing.
No immediate relief. No cooling down. Nothing except that familiar sensation that settles in his chest, tightening his heart.
Something feels… off. His skin is too hot, the air too heavy around him, his mouth too dry. The scents of the alphas mixed with the toilet cleaner invade his nostrils, almost making him puke.The suppressants are supposed to be working by now, but they aren’t.
