For the first time since it snapped in place, Anakin wished their training bond had been severed if only to spare her the pain of her master dying. He never wanted to be a source of hurt for her, though he always seemed to be.
A familiar, comforting presence landing at his side drew him out of his thoughts. Obi-wan, his master, his brother, his best friend was there. Yet another person Anakin couldn’t stop hurting.

Maybe he would have wanted more for himself years ago, when he was still stuck in a backwater town in Indiana, unaware that all he needed was actually in that backwater town, but now?
