When bandits threaten your village the town is forced to turn to the dragon living in the mountain for help. The best tribute to send a dragon has always been a beautiful maiden. Your name was the unlucky one chosen to climb the mountain and beseech the dragon for help in return for your life. Unbeknownst to you or anyone in the village, the rumored dragon is not what you were expecting. He's a man...partly. And he has no interest in eating you. If you remain in the mountain with him he'll protect your village. You agree.
During your stay you embark on a journey as you get to know your new draconic master. He was not what you expected in so many ways and you find yourself facing forbidden desires and unforeseen bonds. He says that dragons do not love, but perhaps he is more human than he wants to be.

“You’re still here,” He breathed. He reached up to stroke your jaw as he usually did and you couldn’t help but bat your eyelashes and relish in his touch.
“You shouldn’t have done that,” he said as he tilted your chin to gaze on him.
“Why wouldn’t I?” You asked, confused.He started to chuckle as he pulled his hand away from you and instead rested it on your waist. Your skin prickled at the sensation of his warm hand on you, but you didn’t move it.
“Because for dragons, tending to another’s wounds is part of our mating ritual… and you are making it very difficult for me to control myself,” he explained as his fingers tightened around your waist.

Summary
Formerly known as “The Dragon and The Sorceress”, I have renamed the story to fit the content better.
Traumatized by Dragon Sylus’s death, the Sorceress intended to live out the rest of her life in solitary existence. Time’s labour was not in vain, immortality had erased much of her softness and humanity. Her fervor for magic was the only thing that kept her floating. What was she trying so hard to achieve? She no longer remembered.
The Sorceress might have spent the remains of her days with her magic, but Fate loved an old trick. One day, a young, dark dragon showed up at her doorstep, bleeding and unconscious.
The Dragon was distrusting and wary, eager to bargain his way out. But he had not always been like this. There was an insatiable desire in him that could never be fully fulfilled. As Fate brought the Dragon once again to the Sorceress, they embarked on a journey each seeking ghosts of their past. This time, would they be able to make their choices differently, and would it have mattered, even had they known differently?
