Summary
"I want to be with Wanyin, not Wei Ying." Jiang Cheng is stunned to hear that. He looks up at Lan Wangji to see him looking at him intently.
He feels like crying but instead he chuckles, "stop joking Wangji. Go before he leaves. You don't want him to spend his valentines with someone else do you?" He teases Lan Wangji as he starts dragging him towards his brother.
Lan Wangji was about to say something but Jiang Cheng beat him to it, "don't worry about me! I'll be fine. It's just Valentine anyway, it's not like EVERYONE requires someone to spend it with."
He stops and gives Lan Wangji a small push towards his brother when they are close enough as he says "we should spend it with the person we love right? You should spend it with yours! I'm going ok? Don't let this flop. Ask him on a date afterwards!"
He smiles giving him a thumbs up and turns around and leaves. Tears start streaming down his face as soon as he's out of Lan Wangji's sight. "You both are soulmates, how can I let myself ruin the perfect thing you had together."

He was only moderately surprised when he coughed up a few petals. They were white and beautiful. Of course Lan Zhan would give him beautiful flowers. He flushed them in the toilet, and tried not to think of them again.
When Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying welcome Lan Zhan into their relationship, it doesn't take long for Jiang Cheng to start coughing up flowers. It's quite clear to him that he's the "buy one, get one free", the cost Lan Zhan has to bear to be with Wei Ying. It's not really surprising, and Jiang Cheng would be fine with it if not for the knowledge that his death might make Wei Ying sad and also, maybe, negatively affect Wei Ying and Lan Zhan's relationship.
