Summary
The woosh feeling happens whenever Zhao shoots Ichiban a compliment during a fight. Or when he claps him on the shoulder after a rousing round of karaoke. Or when they’re having a back-and-forth and Ichiban says something clever enough to leave Zhao stammering for a rebuttal. But the woosh happens here, in the small room on the second floor of Survive, with the overhead light and his blood buzzing in his ears, with everyone downstairs hooting and hollering an English song none of them know the lyrics to, with Zhao‘s breath whisky warm against his cheek and a bulb switches on. A little ding-ding-ding goes off. The sound of discovery, a tinny and upbeat jingle, echoes in his imagination and his perception stat goes up.
Zhao gives him butterflies.
But when you’re just friends with benefits, catching feelings is against the rules, right?
