Summary
Grace Ivers is one bad day away from completely falling apart when her car starts making a horrible grinding sound just outside of campus. The only garage still open belongs to a family-owned shop that happens to include John Logan, a hockey star who’d rather spend his nights under the hood of a car than being treated like campus royalty.
What starts as a simple repair turns into late-night diner runs, coffee deliveries to the garage, and a growing attachment neither of them expects. Logan likes that Grace talks too much when she’s nervous. Grace likes that Logan becomes softer when nobody’s watching.
But as pressure mounts with Logan's hockey career and real life starts pulling at them from opposite directions, Grace begins to wonder if she’s just a temporary stop in Logan’s fast-moving future.
And Logan realizes far too late that somewhere between oil stains and midnight drives, Grace became the closest thing he’s ever had to home.

Summary
“You don’t have to explain.”
Jimin stares. For a moment, he cannot process it. Cannot comprehend how easily she lets it go. How effortlessly she steps over the tangled mess of his guilt, the clumsy weight of his regret, without stopping to inspect it.
“I get it,” she says simply. “You’re you.”
The words settle over him like a rock, impossibly heavy. She doesn’t elaborate. Doesn’t say anything more. She doesn’t have to. He understands perfectly.
You’re you.
And I’m me.
And that’s the way it is, isn’t it? That’s the way it has to be.
__________Night after night, in the hush of an elevator at an ungodly hour, two neighbors cross paths. One, a world-renowned idol accustomed to careful distances. The other, an artist draped in quiet mystery. In the space between floors, in fleeting glances and unspoken understandings, something delicate begins to take shape.
