Summary
In his long life, there were many things that Magnus had to do that weren’t particularly easy for him. Watching Camille leave him was pretty high up on that list, along with watching his dear friend Ragnor Fell die. Yes, Magnus Bane faced some particularly difficult challenges in his very long life. However, loving Alexander was the easiest thing he had ever done. It came as easily to him as his magic, and maybe it was something like magic in a way it was constantly flowing through his veins, even while they were apart. But the most difficult thing he had done in a long time, was leaving Alec in that hallway.

Summary
Alec comes over to Magnus' loft for drinks yet again and this time they get to talking even more in-depth. Before Alec knows it, it is well into the night and rather than head back to the Institute he boldly asks if he can crash there. Magnus agrees, of course, all too eager to spend more time with Alec. Is Alec going to learn that there is more to life than just the Institute? Is Magnus going to accept that after centuries he could be back on the road to love? Whatever it is, it is not going to be easy.

Idris is a big enough company that, logically, a betting pool about when and where the CFO’s son and the hot new marketing consultant will finally be overcome by their unresolved sexual tension and start fucking like rabbits already should have been able to slip by mostly under the radar.
This would have been true if, as originally envisioned, the betting pool had stayed mostly contained between Jace, Simon, Izzy, Lydia, Clary, and a few of their other close friends, as well as a precious few of Alec’s comrades from HR who could spy on him while Izzy spied on Magnus over on the marketing side of the office.
It did not, however, stay contained.
