“S’bad?” Miles slurred out, droopy eyes catching the way Hobie flinched - or maybe he’d imagined it, everything is starting to merge together by now.
“We’ll get you fixed up.” Hobie Brown didn’t believe in promises, but the way he said those words made Miles believe that Hobie had just promised him something special.
The Spot was finally taken care of, but a hurt and wounded Miles is left in the wake of it all. His mind is swimming with it all - physical, mental, and emotional.
