Summary
He reaches for Dream’s hand, a reflex he isn’t even entirely conscious of. It just feels right, even though he still hasn’t opened his eyes, because Dream’s hand is there and it took crossing an ocean to learn how it feels to press their palms together and he can’t just keep waiting when everything he’s ever longed for is finally at his fingertips.
Dream mumbles something incoherent, his face scrunching up as he pulls himself into consciousness, and George notices how hard he’s smiling when he feels his own cheeks begin to ache.
What a strange thing, George thinks, watching as Dream’s eyes slowly blink open. A week ago all I knew was your voice, and now I know how your face changes when you wake up from a dream.

“I like being able to touch you,” Dream says, his voice so soft, well past the point of incriminating.
He anticipates George, hears ‘why did you say it like that?’ so clearly it’s almost like he just said it aloud.
The sentence never comes. Instead George shifts, the feeling and sound of him coming from even closer, and his knees bump into Dream’s and stay there.
A last meetup prediction before we won’t have to predict it anymore.

“You are pretty.”
It’s nothing he hasn’t said before, but George falters. Dream feels it in his slackened thighs and the limp hand around his neck.
“You— You’re pretty, too,” he admits, voice sinking. “Is that— Can I say that?"
Everything is better in person (bits and pieces of George's first six months in Florida, as experienced by Dream).
