Summary
“You always turn your head away.”
So'lek's hand paused for a moment in Tamtey's hair, which he was unconsciously combing through.\
“What are you talking about?”
The woman raised her head slightly higher on his chest, her green eyes fixed on his golden ones, as if she wanted him to see comfort in them before she finished her thought.
Because it was comfortable, she didn't want to ruin it. Not now, when the waterfall was murmuring quietly in So'lek's hideout, when the furs given to them by Kame'tire were warm from their own naked bodies and enveloped their heated skin like a hot herbal tea on a cold day, and Tamtey could feel his strong heartbeat under her hand.
And yet she couldn't remain silent.
“When you talk,” she said. Barely louder than a whisper, as if she were afraid that anything louder would shatter the moment into pieces. “You always turn your head to the left.”

Summary
“There will be a dance fight,” she says. So'lek raises his eyebrows for her to continue. “And I need to put my paint on.”
She is happy about it. She is excited about it, her eyes shiny, energetic.
She walks around him, stopping at the counter. She runs her finger over the tabletop, over the dried paint stains, her fingernail scratching the wood, as if she knows he is about to ask a question.
Her tail sways from time to time, brushing against the side of his thigh, even if she probably doesn't realize it.
He does.He watches her back. The patterns on her skin, the way some of her hair is braided, some is let loose.
He has to stop staring. And maybe he shouldn't drink after all.
“And why am I needed here?”
She scoffs. She laughs, because for her this question is silly. Maybe it's the zangke she drank, maybe it's just her, but she steps closer, smile still there, never going away.
Something intense lurks in her gaze even behind that fog. But So'lek can't name it. Maybe if he could, it would be easier for him.
“Because I can't reach my back, skxawng.”

The weight of that truth fell between them like a boulder. And he couldn't answer. He couldn't answer, just like that. He couldn't answer, even though the notes of regret in her voice made his heart ache.
For a moment, he thought he couldn't breathe. That Tamtey, being so close, had taken all the air out of his lungs with just one question, which had placed him against that invisible wall he always put between them.
"I got used to it."
He lied again. And Tamtey laid her ears back again.
He hurt her again.
"So you take a bullet for me, but you still can't say my name?"

She didn't even know if it was a question. Maybe a plea. For an explanation, for her to stop looking at her like that, or else Vi would lose the remnants of her sanity, of which she already had very little.
Caitlyn.
Her best friend.
With a thumb pushing against her lip, a cascade of dark blue hair and a gaze that reached all the way to the marrow of Violet Lanes' bones.
And that's how the whole mess had started.

Vi and Caitlyn get drunk on Mel's birthday party and things escalate quickly after that. And kissing a friend wouldn't be so bad after all... but being hopelessly in love with this exact friend is definetly not helping.Vi decides to do everything to keep Caitlyn away from the truth and that's when everything slowly starts to spiral down...

And there she meets Vi. Vi, who wants some fun, nothing more. She doesn't like questions until she herself allows them. Caitlyn's stripper alter-ego becomes someone, whom Vi appears to trust, even though she doesn't know anything about her.
Things get more complicated, when Vi openly seems to dislike Caitlyn Kiramman... just when Caitlyn Kiramman becomes interested in Violet Lanes.
