Summary
Jonathan Sims is a bit of an asshole. Martin learns this on his first day of teaching at Magnus Memorial, a job he's been working to get for years. He's swept under the wing of an eclectic group of teachers, but even as his friendship grows with the others, he just can't stop thinking about Jon.
Agnes, Annabelle, and Jane are a package deal at Magnus Memorial. Top of the class, in drama club, winning quiz bowls, trying to find jobs. But the balance of their friendship is in danger when an unexpected person walks in to audition for the play- Jude Perry. Agnes, against every voice of reason in her, is willing to give Jude a chance.A magnus high school AU, including slow burn romance, hijinks, and a little too much alcohol. A world where the Fears are only specialty coffee drinks.

Jonathan Sims, Academy-Award-nominated actor, accidentally wanders into Blackwood Books in the midst of a panic attack.
Unbeknownst to either Jon or Martin, this accidental encounter thrusts them both onto a path that neither could have ever predicted: one of healing, growth, and love of the sort that neither imagined was possible.

Summary
Jon is staring openly at their fingers. Martin follows his gaze and feels ridiculous and the amount of anticipation and sparkling excitement and nerves swimming in front of his eyes, just from this closeness without touching. Their fingers are just a hairsbreadth apart now, so the sliver of light between them is cast orange.

Summary
There is a war brewing with the Witch Lords of the north, and the Serene Empire is not powerful enough to stand against them. Their only hope is to forge an alliance with the mysterious Lord of Eyes, a Witch Lord who is famed as much for his neutrality as his power.
Martin Blackwood, a minor Raverran noble with far less political expertise than he claims, is drawn into the fray through a chance encounter at a ball. With an invitation to study at the Lord of Eyes’ personal Archive, he is sent racing north to turn this opportunity to the Empire’s advantage and somehow convince the terrifying Lord to save his country.

Summary
"They haven’t really stopped touching each other since they left the Institute - small brushes here, comforting weight there. Jon knows - lowercase k - that it’s helping Martin stay grounded, after a trip into the literal realm of eternal loneliness. He thinks it’s helping keep himself grounded too. They haven’t talked about it."
Apparently what they need to realize how much they both love each other is some minor sleep problems, a little hand holding, and a sunrise.

Summary
Gestalt [n]: A whole perceived as more than the sum of its parts.
There are a number of reasons for which Jon picks this memory: that it is a safe moment, that there is no fog outside the windows crowning the little couch in their safehouse, that the golden light of a rare cloudless day in the Scottish Highlands haloes Martin's hair. But mostly it is because Martin is sleeping. He is not singing, he is not laughing softly at one of Jon's jokes, he is not making tea; he is not doing anything at all. And it is a moment like this, Jon thinks, that Martin most needs to See.

Summary
“This is the Magnus Institute, not a creative writing course at university. If that doesn’t agree with him, he can leave.” There was a thud and the sound of rifling tapes. “He can take his bloody tea with him.”
Martin’s fingers tightened on the saucer. Oh.

Martin knows better than to talk about it. It's fine. He's fine.

Summary
He was struck, all at once, by the near-impossibility of the moment, of the impossibility of a fresh start, spread out perfectly before him. Jon didn’t deserve a fresh start, didn’t deserve this idyllic scene, this warm morning in Scotland. He turned from where he was staring out of the windshield to glance at Martin, sitting beside him.
Jon didn’t deserve Martin, either.
But he was here, in the car with him; just like the cottage was there before them, quiet and unassuming in the protection- the home, a hopeful voice whispered in the back of Jon’s head- it offered, and Jon couldn’t bring himself to push any of it away.

Summary
Not for the first time since they ran away together, a camera reel of all the things they don't know about one another whirs behind Martin's eyes, and he can't help but look at all the sprawling magnetic tape and wonder if they’re going to wind up a romance or a tragedy.
