This brought the table to a halt. Even Aang stopped his marble, because it was true: Sokka and Zuko might together be the force that had liberated Boiling Rock, but when it came to each other? That famed intellect went sailing out the window.
Katara deflated, laying her head on the table. “We’ve got our work cut out for us, don’t we?”
Azula reached out and, wonder of wonders, patted her arm with something close to sympathy. “Might as well get started.”

Summary
The Jasmine Dragon opens a week after Team Avatar lands in Ba Sing Se. While exploring, Sokka decides to treat himself to the “Best Tea in the City.” He never expects to be served by their enemy. Oddly enough, he doesn’t seem to be an enemy anymore. Even more strange, Sokka returns the next day. And the next. Zuko doesn’t mind.

Summary
Depicted on his forearm was the outline of two crossed swords, like those that he had read about in stories of the warriors who were out fighting the great battles in the war. He was always proud of his marking, not only cause it made him look cool, but he figured that his soulmate must be cool because of the swords too, right?
Except, the one problem was that his soulmate wasn’t in the southern water tribe.
(Alternatively; everyone is born with a mark that ties them to their soulmate. Let’s just say that Sokka hasn’t had the best luck when it’s come to his.)

Toph, hold this will you?” He hefts Zuko’s bag over to her before Toph can protest, and she has a mind to drop the bag at her feet before she feels something interesting inside the bag. As her seismic sense ran passively through the bag, she sensed something small; it was heavier than the parchment but lighter than the bag of coins-- giving a feedback of vibration somewhere between glass and limestone.

zuko knows what it feels like to be the non-prodigal child -- knows how fathers treat the less gifted child. on the airship, he keeps to sokka’s side like a shadow, never mind that he’s shaking like a leaf from exhaustion and hakoda is twice his size. zuko came too close to losing sokka during the gondola fight, he’s not going to -- wait, when did he start to care that much?
[hyper-vigilant!zuko realizing how much he cares about sokka and also father trauma]
