Summary
The first thing he notices is the drying blood of the evening sunset washing over the room. It dapples the floor, sprangles the walls in rivers of golden red light and glitters in Malleus’ eyes like the sun stretching across the vast expanses of the savanna. Malleus must have ripped the curtains open sometime between Leona deciding to skip magical shift practice and him settling down in the sunwarmed strips of light Ruggie and Epel won’t bother to search. The windows too, because a gust of evening wind toys with the midnight blue tips of his hair.
Malleus pushes a hand through his bangs and lets out a frustrated huff.
Or
Malleus carves a gargoyle while the sun sets behind him. Leona just wants a peaceful place to nap.

With the edge of summer creeping around the corner, the day is objectively beautiful, the sun high in the sky and warming the ground enough for the flowers to poke their heads out from the dirt. But even days where Jack feels like he could beat Deuce’s record on the 100 meter sprint can easily be ruined by bad company.

“We’re only two floors up.” Leona says, pushing the doors leading to the balcony open. The air is as fresh as it is cold, a gentle breeze toying with the braids of his hair and carrying the voices into the darkness outside. The people inside the room are lively but have yet to ask Malleus to be lively with them. Leona hadn’t wanted to be lively to begin with but Malleus rather likes this, just him and Leona in the blue of the night, voices scattered around them. “We could jump it.”

Team was safe with him. Safe in his room, protected from nightmares Win couldn’t imagine that haunted him even when he nodded off in class.
So yes, the solution had been obvious. So obvious that the next morning, when Team went to take a shower, Win left breakfast for him on the table with a note saying that he had an early study session, and he would see Team later.
An extra key card was easy to pick up, and a copy of the room key didn’t take much more effort.
Returning to his empty room half an hour before he was supposed to meet the rest of the club for the open day, though, he started to question his obvious solution.

Inspired by when Win and Team were having the homophobia conversation, and Team was worried about Pharm hearing the bullshit people were saying. And Win said that Pharm would be ok cause no matter what, he would have Dean, Team and Manow beside him. As if Win himself wouldn't fucking deck someone who was a threat to Pharm if Dean wasn't around to do it.
