‘I couldn’t.’ He murmurs. Simon’s shoulders droop as he lets out this defeated sigh and everything in Wille just crumbles. Tears pour from his eyes and he can barely choke out the words.
‘Simon, I don’t understand.’ he sobs, everything is just bubbling to the surface now and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. He feels Simon finally reach out to brush the hair from his face, but the boy’s fingers just hover over his skin—not actually allowing themselves to make contact.
