"Mel," he sighs, "I'm too tired for that."
She believes him. The tiredness. Every word a testimony of exhaustion.
"It's not good for you," she replies, feeling guilt creep up her neck. If he's smoking because of her then she is reason for this unhealthy habit resurfacing — and whatever might come of it. She doesn't want this for him. Not because of her.
"A lot of things aren't good for me." And Mel knows, she knows, that this runs much deeper than he lets on. That this isn't just about the dozen burgers he can eat in one sitting or the amount of sugared drinks he consumes daily. How many hours he spends glued to his screen, losing match after match after match. Blood pressure high, frustrations higher. All while he sits hunched over, giving his back hell.
This is about her. She is what isn't good for him.
She was good for him.
Once.
At least she believes so.Or: Mel stays at Jayce' new place (which coincidentally is his mothers place) after their break up. Tensions run high and one thing leads to another.
