As Agatha stepped past her, a short breath fell from her lips, a breath she hadn’t even realized she had been holding. She shouldn’t have been concerned. If there was one defining feature of Agatha Harkness, it was her survival instinct and her single-minded desire to survive. She burned brighter, more alive than anyone Rio had ever encountered over eons.
The boy had the same expression all Agatha’s victims did. Shock, betrayal, hurt, anger, all swirled together in a pathetic frown. How many had stood in this boy’s place before her?
