Summary
Martin reaches out and twines his fingers in Jon’s hair, rubbing over his scalp until he slumps into Martin a little harder, like an overgrown cat getting a good scritch. “Jon,” he says, and closes his eyes. “Honestly, I don’t know? I don’t really have, uh. I don’t know what’s going on with me.”
“You liked it when I called you a good girl,” Jon says softly, resting a hand on Martin’s knee and rubbing his thumb back and forth, slow and soothing. “Do you want--I can do that again, if you like. I don’t mind.”
“I did,” Martin says, and it feels very real to say it aloud.

Summary
new romance is hard, isn't it?
(me? projecting my own touch-starved-ness onto jonmartin? never....
it's mostly me writing really soft safehouse moments both pre-eyepocalypse and post-eyepocalypse and there's not actually a plot, it's *mostly* canon compliant I think
and, in this house, we drink our respect jon's ace identity juice
I just really like thinking about what an intimate physical relationship could be like without sex so that's a lot of where this came from too
so!! soft safehouse moments!! some a little sad, some just soft - here we go!!)Bookmarked by squishy_lotus

This is not a home.
Martin is smiling. Jon thinks it’s the first time he’s seen him smile in a while. He likes it.

Summary
“How … how many people have you … kissed?"
At that, Martin’s eyes snapped wide open, but Jon looked as if he were asleep.
“I … I, uh, don’t know, really. Four?”
One eye peeked open. “You’re not counting Tim, are you?”
Martin chuckled. “No, no, I don’t think those kinds of kisses count.”
“Good.” Jon closed his eyes again, then frowned. “How … how many would it be if you … did count them?”

Summary
There are two bedrooms in the safehouse, and two beds.
For a moment, Jon considers asking to share, but decides against it with a wince. “I really loved you,” Martin had told him. Loved. Past tense. And Martin doesn’t exactly have a lot of choices right now in terms of company; it would be cruel to demand he play at feelings he no longer has just to make Jon happy.
(For a moment, Martin considers asking to share. But he dismisses the idea with a shake of his head. Jon has already done so much for him. Martin isn’t about to ask for more, especially not when it’s something he doesn’t really need. He has his right mind back, and he has Jon’s friendship. That should be enough for him. It’ll have to be.)
---
Jon thinks that Martin doesn’t love him. Martin thinks that Jon doesn’t love him. They do not, of course, discuss this. Unrequited love is already awkward enough, right? No need to dwell on it.
