Summary
Things have been stressful for Kyoshi. First, she sang a poem and now the whole kitchen staff thinks it’s about Rangi, and is sure that there will be gossip. Then, Yun asks her to join him for the Fifth Nation treaty signing. Now Rangi’s acting strange. It’s becoming a bit much for Kyoshi’s small corner of the world.

Summary
Kyoshi is no one in particular and she likes it that way. The only time she wishes for something different is when she fantasizes about a relationship with her best friend Rangi. But considering the object of her affections is set to marry the heir to the throne, their relationship is not to be. Everything goes wrong when the king dies and she is saved from assassination by a mysterious faction claiming she is a princess. Left with no other choice, she begins an uphill battle for survival.
When she returns years later to claim her throne she's no longer the kind-hearted girl she once was but instead a bloodthirsty tyrant, or at least that's what the whispers spreading through the realm say. As it turns out no matter her reputation, due to a unique political quirk the betrothal between Rangi and the 'future ruler' stands. Will they learn to love, or at the very least tolerate each other? Will it matter in the face of looming political turmoil?
