Summary
“Oh, Mon Cher!” Lestat exclaims, jumping up like a child and kissing Louis, cupping his face in his hands.
Louis feels a sense of anticipation. Passion. A little guilt. Underneath all his feelings, there is a masked suppressed rage and resentment.
Survive this night, Louis thinks, and smiles.
____When Louis fixes the fasteners on Lestat's neck, he removes the hair from his face, and Lestat unexpectedly kisses his palm. Louis freezes. He gently strokes Lestat's cheek and wipes away his tears.
“Are you okay?” Louis asks.
Lestat makes another attempt to look at Louis, but the belt around his neck has completely prevented him from doing so.
Lestat whines in displeasure, not answering Louis' question.
“I know,” Louis says, gently stroking Lestat's head. “It's okay if you're not okay. That's what I wanted. And you gave it to me. That's all I want.”- Language:
