    And Albus Dumbledore plots and schemes in the background only to have everything taken over by the very same potions assistant, finding that Severus is no longer so easily controlled.

    The dark lord's activity, and life, continues through the help of his loyal followers, and Marlowe and Severus find themselves deep in a mire of danger, subterfuge, and horcruxes. Somehow, it's become their duty to do the right thing, and stop Voldemort before he grows too powerful again.

    Canon compliant and yet completely undoing AU.
