Summary
A storm shrouds Jing Yuan’s shoulders. He smells like wind and lightning, like rain on a sunny day, like dark soil and the life that blooms from it. He smells like… like the Luofu, that very first time Dan Heng stepped into the sunlight, that very first time he beheld the world with his own eyes.
Saliva fills his mouth. His stomach churns now as it did back then, trepidation warring with a longing so sudden and fierce that Dan Heng can’t think of anything else. This feeling—it can’t be anything else.
But then Jing Yuan says, “It’s been a long time, old friend”—and the candlelight in Dan Heng’s chest hisses out.
Jing Yuan and Dan Feng weren't soulmates.
Jing Yuan and Dan Heng are.

Summary
Dan Heng immediately regretted speaking the second he was met with the wide-eyed, surprised looks from the rest of the crew.
It had been impulsive on his part. They had a moment of downtime, no immediate next destination. The others were discussing where to go, potential resupply locations, when Dan Heng’s internal filter failed him;
“Could we go to the Luofu?”
In which Dan Heng innocently suggests going back to the Luofu, but horribly miscalculates when.

Summary
The first thing that tips Jing Yuan off that something is wrong is the way in which Dan Heng comes in and immediately beelines to him, only to wrap his arms around Jing Yuan's waist before burying his face into the back of Jing Yuan's shoulder.
The second thing that tips Jing Yuan off is the way Dan Heng draws in a breath and how it sounds stuck in his nose. It sounds heavy with exhaustion when Dan Heng releases.
The third and final thing that confirms Jing Yuan's suspicion is when Dan Heng turns his head sideways to speak and all he says is-
"Jing Yuan."

Summary
“I was surprised when you told me you wanted me to uncollar you,” Mydei murmurs. “I’ve never seen you without it… but I’ve always been curious.” One finger stops at his left shoulder and taps at the single point of Phainon’s tattoo that peaks out from under the leather. “You’ve got something here, don’t you? Something even I’m not allowed to see.”
Phainon is losing his mind, the promise of the collar coming off so close. “You can see,” he whimpers.
“Can I, now? Who else got here before me? Lady Aglaea?” Phainon is shaking his head. “Lady Castorice?”
“No,” Phainon pleads. Which is a lie, but he just wants Mydei to remove that wretched article, replace it with his teeth, sink in deep– ...
“It’s alright,” Mydei murmurs, even as his eyes remain dangerous, scent tinged with a metal edge. “Because the way I get to have you now is something no one else ever has or will.”
-
Omega Phainon who asked Aglaea to collar him so he can focus on the flamechase, and Alpha Mydei taking it off for the first time.

Summary
Mydei had never one to dwell upon the more selfish, primitive desires and wants that could never be realized. He was well accustomed to not being in a position wherein indulging was in the cards.
But if he'd had it his way, he internalized… he'd have had Phainon mouthing at the shape of him through his trousers like this halfway through that first, fateful ten days of sparring.
After assuming Nikador's divinity, Mydei's grand entrance into-- and subsequent resolution of-- the conflict with the Flame Reaver renders Phainon speechless-- and very, very turned on.
