Summary
There's just one problem, at the moment. Well, actually, no, there are currently several problems. Several problems that, lumped together, all add up to one really, really big problem.
Here are Martin’s current problems. Problem number one: Martin has just become a fugitive, both from the law and from the various supernatural forces that would like to murder both him and Jon with extreme prejudice. Problem number two: Martin and Jon are currently in hiding, and are rationing their trips to town as much as possible, to avoid drawing unwanted attention. Problem number three: libido is one of the things that the Lonely suppresses, and Martin is no longer bound to the Lonely. Problem number four: Martin, at this point, can't even remember how long it's been since he last had an orgasm.
And the fifth, final problem: the shower in Daisy's safehouse does not have a detachable showerhead.

He peers between the branches at the spiderweb, gently pushing some away to get a better view. He wonders what kind of spider it is, if he can catch a glimpse of it. There aren’t that many types in England, but--
Oh. He doesn’t spot the spider, but there’s something else trapped in the middle of the web. A large moth, its wings splayed helpless and immobile. As he watches, he sees its legs wriggle ineffectually in the air. It’s a surprisingly pitiful sight, making Martin’s heart unexpectedly wrench a bit for the poor thing.

The thing is, the thoughts aren't even exactly lewd. It's more like...the way he would see a cashmere scarf on a rack at a store, and he would reach out automatically to touch it, because some part of his hindbrain knew the texture would feel soft and nice in his hand.
The only difference is, he doesn't usually have these kinds of intrusive thoughts several times a day, and they've never been exclusively directed at a feature of his co-worker's anatomy.

Martin has always liked the idea of love at first sight.
It’s such a romantic idea, the whole thing of it. Seeing someone and instantly feeling that strange, twisting feeling deep inside that every single media likes to obsess over. Of knowing you are in love within the day, petals falling from your mouth and warmth filling your chest as love burrows deep, vines twisting through your lungs.
He always liked the idea of it.
And then Jonathan Sims starts working at the Magnus Institute.

After a moment, Martin decides he’ll just watch what Jon does, and then do the same. Takes a sandwich, a snack, a drink. Carries it outside to the picnic area with Jon, and eats without thinking. Ignores the way that it makes him feel as he slides back into the passenger seat, Jon’s fingers drumming lightly on the steering wheel next to him: uncomfortably full, in more ways than just physical.
It’ll work for now, he tells himself. He’ll figure it out later.

“Do you guys think Jon is attractive? Be honest,” Melanie mused, leaning back in her seat in exactly the way Jon was always telling her not to. Martin carefully ducked his head under the desk, pretending to be searching for another errant paper. He was paranoid that something in his face would betray his answer to Melanie’s question. Could other people sense when your heart was beating quickly? He didn’t think so, but just to be safe he wrapped his jacket more closely over his chest to muffle the hypothetical sound.
He didn’t even know what answer he’d give anyway. He certainly couldn’t just tell the truth. Some of them probably suspected – Georgie and Melanie more likely than the others. But he couldn’t bring himself to speak of it openly. It was easier if he let them imagine that they might be wrong and it might not be true – if he let them imagine that they could cut him some slack. That he might have enough dignity not to fall for someone who was so hopelessly out of his league and who, as everyone could very obviously discern, would never, ever, ever, ever view him as anything but a quasi-competent co-worker.

Jon looks at him. Martin smiles at him in his usual tentative way as he sets the mug of tea down on Jon’s desk. Heat spikes so sharply in his gut that he twitches with it.
“Thank you, Martin,” he says, mouth dry, and he stands up.
“Oh,” he says, sounding almost surprised. He smiles again. “No-- no problem-- um, what are you--”
Jon takes Martin by the shoulders, leans up on the tips of his toes, and kisses him.
